火电厂烟气脱硫系统中的测量仪表对于监视和控制整个工艺过程至关重要，湿法脱硫系统的工艺过程较为复杂，工艺介质即脱硫浆液的特殊性：
（1）浆液中含有硫酸根及亚硫酸根,呈弱酸性，pH 值一般在5.2～6.2之间；
（2）浆液中含有2％的氯离子和氟离子，会加速酸腐蚀；
（3）石灰石浆液对仪表的腐蚀、磨蚀，悬浮固体的沉积，结垢等，对仪表有特殊的要求，所以，仪表选型应最大限度地考虑其可用性、可靠性和可控性。
1.PH值测量仪表
吸收塔浆液的pH值反映塔内浆液的酸碱度，与入口原烟气SO2浓度、脱硫效率及石灰石浆液浓度共同控制石灰石的加入量。如果显示数据不准确，直接影响石灰石的加入量，如pH显示偏低(实际正常)，导致石灰石浆液的加入量增大、石膏中的碳酸钙含量增加，石膏的品质下降，石灰石利用率降低，影响脱硫运行的经济性；反之，如果显示偏高，石灰石的加入量减少，严重时影响脱硫效率降低，且长期的低pH值浆液，还会导致塔内搅拌器、浆液循环泵、排出泵等金属过流部件的腐蚀，缩短设备的使用寿命，增大脱硫运行的成本，同时也使脱硫系统的安全经济运行难以保证。
